Police, in separate drives, on Sunday arrested
three deer poachers with 44 kilograms of venison from Koyra upazila of the
district.
The arrested were identified as Sahib Ali, of Patakhali village under South
Bedkashi union of the upazila, Abul Kashem, of Rajapur village under Rupsha
upazila and Badar Al Washim Quraishi, of Palpara road under Khulna Sadar
Thana.
On secret information, a team of the police conducted a drive in Deulia Bazar
area under Koyra upazila around 10am and arrested Saheb Ali. Police seized
27kgs of venison from his possession.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Koyra Police Station ABM S Doha confirmed that
Sahib Ali was arrested while going to Dhaka along with the venison through
wrapping in a bag.
Besides, police conducted another drive in Gabbunia village under North
Bedkashi union around 11am and nabbed two deer poachers Abul Kashem and Badar
Al Quraishi with 17 kilograms of venison.
A case was filed with Koyra Police Station in this connection.
